My approach to working with you will always be personal and tailored to your needs.
If a project requires a lot of discussion, that's fine. I am always available and can respond to you in short order.
The degree of involvement and clarity is different for small and large projects and a summary of how we would work together on each is set out below:
Small project proposals:
For small projects, such as a short piece of copywriting or editing a document, we can generally start work following an exchange of emails. I'll clarify your requirements, advise the price, and we'll agree the timescales.
Larger project proposals:
For larger projects, we'll discuss the project to ensure I have understood your needs fully. This will include any questions about the brief and a discussion to clarify what you require, for example, the intended audience, voice, register and so on. I'll then prepare a written quotation for you to accept, which incorporates these details and a price.
I generally price per project, and will be happy to give you an upfront fixed price, provided you can supply a brief that lets me do that. Because the copy will be tailored to your specific needs and may be more or less creative, or involve light or heavy research, I don't offer a standard rate card.
My expertise is in writing, and I normally produce just the copy for my clients documents or content. However, I also have a strong network of contacts and can bundle design services with a proposal, if that meets my client's needs.
During the project:
If necessary, we'll keep in regular contact throughout the project. I'll ask you any questions that come up during the work, and, depending on how we've agreed to progress the project, I may send you drafts for comment or feedback.
Accepting the work:
I want you to be 100% satisfied with the work I do for you, so the price will include time for a reasonable amount of revision and editing. You accept the work when you're entirely happy with the product.
Invoicing and payment:
I'll invoice you when you've accepted the work. Payment terms are 30 days from the end of the month when the invoice is sent. Payment is made by electronic transfer to a UK bank account.
